Jesus rejected the devil’s offer of instant glory not just because it about power; but because it was a counterfeit of God’s promise.

Today, God reminds us that by making His written Word a part of our daily lives -reading it, meditating on it, and living it out – we arm ourselves with the power to stand firm against the enemy’s evil schemes.

The enemy’s goal is to make you doubt who you are in God. When the devil seeks to make you doubt your identity, here is the blueprint of what your response should be.

If Jesus, the Son of God was tempted, so will you. If He emerged from the desert of temptation in the power of the Spirit, ready for ministry, so will you.

Today, we’re reminded that the Father’s delight in Jesus was rooted in identity, not activity. With Him He was well-pleased because He was His Son, period.

Today, we learn that without Jesus’ moment of prayer, His baptism would have looked like any other. But because He was praying, He received an ‘open heaven’ experience that unleashed Him into His long-awaited ministry.

Jesus’ holistic development in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man serves as a model for our growth if we strive for balance in intellectual, physical, spiritual, and social capital.
