However much the devil and the gods of the world exalt themselves, there’s One who is greater than them all – the LORD God Jehovah – who lives on the inside of us and has set us over and above them all.

Whatever our race, status in society or age, we were created to worship God, which is the response of the heart and the spirit to the sovereignty of God.

Regardless of our attitude to politics, bad governance affects everyone for good or for worse. That’s why the Constitution gives all citizens, Christians or otherwise, specific civic rights, powers, duties and privileges to ensure the good governance of their country.

Though there is a lot going on in our lives and around us, the Scriptures admonish us to cultivate an attitude of gratitude and to give thanks in all circumstances.

Through the centuries, Christianity has always taken ‘confirmation’ as one of the pillars of its liturgy. As a believer in Christ, you have been ‘confirmed’ by the Holy Spirit as a true and legitimate child of God.

Whereas there are other ways that are available to us to take, God challenges us and does invite us to choose His ways so we can receive true success and find rest for our souls.

As sailors need anchors to keep their vessels from drifting, Christ must be the only Anchor of the soul in a tumultuous and tempestuous world.

Whereas we may be buffeted by all sorts of situations in a fallen world, God gives us the assurance that whatever comes against us cannot prevail because we are right under the Blood of Jesus where the devil can do us no harm.
